The Northeastern women's rowing team was back in action on Sunday morning rowing in the second round of the Charles River Challenge.

Radcliffe defeated Ohio State, Dartmouth, and Northeastern to win the Fifth Annual Charles River Challenge. The Cliffys rode to force in 7:09.1, to Ohio State's 7:11.5, Dartmouths 7:12.2, and Northeastern's 7:23.7.

All crews battled severe headwinds and whitecapwaters over the 2,000 meter course. However the Huskies drew lane 5 which is the farthest from shore and suffers more from the bad conditions.

The Huskies fell off the pace early trailing by a half-length at 500 meters. They remained in fourth for the rest of the row. Ohio State took the early lead but at 1,000 Radcliffe took command and held it until the finish for a six-seat margin.

The Huskies' 3rd Varsity took home a first place finish beating out Radcliffe by nearly a full 20 seconds. The 2nd Varsity faced the same problematic conditions as the 1st Varsity, finishing 11 seconds behind Dartmouth for a fourth place finish. The Varsity 4 boat took home a third place finish beating out Radcliffe for the third spot.

Northeastern will have a week to prepare for the Virginia 529 Savings Plan CAA Championship, April 23-24, at Sandy Run Regional Park in Virginia.
