Senior tri-captain Jonathan Hall started Northeastern's trial at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon in Philadelphia with a strong showing in the 400-meter hurdles race.

The North Bellmore, N.Y. native clocked in at 52.82 for 16th place, outrunning 43 other competitors on the oval.

Hall's time is his second-best of the season and also came in under IC4A-qualifying standards.

Junior Andrew Staples and Kaylin Miranda combined for a strong effort in the long jump, staying close to one another in the final standings. Miranda netted an eighth-place finish of 7.10m (23'3.5) while Staples closed in on ninth place, clearing 7.01m (23'0). The duo finished in the top half of the field as 25 leapers took part in the event on Friday.

Junior Brian Racca  finished in the top half of the triple jump pool, posting an 11th-place combination of 14.06m (46'1.5) in a field of 22.

With the regular season slate in its rearview, the Huskies switch their focus to championship season. Northeastern travels to Richmond, Va. next weekend for the two-day CAA Championship on Sat.-Sun., May 6-7.
