Powered by a three-run fourth inning, Northeastern came back from an early deficit to defeat William and Mary 4-3 on Sunday to win its first CAA series.

Rob Fonseca hit his first career home run and catcher
Jon Leroux had two hits and an RBI in the win for Northeastern (7-4, 2-1 CAA).
Junior
Kevin Ferguson (2-0) picked up the win, going seven innings and surrendering just one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts.
Matt Wainman (2-2) took the loss for the Tribe (10-7, 1-2), allowing three runs on five hits.
The Tribe took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Ryan Lindemuth hit an RBI groundout to first base, scoring Kevin Nutter and tacked on a second run in the third when Brown brought home Williams, while hitting into a fielder's choice.
But the Huskies came out swinging in the fourth, scoring three runs to take the lead. With two outs and no one on,
Jason Vosler reached on an error by Nutter at second base. Leroux then doubled to left center field, bringing Vosler around to score.
Connor Lyons followed Leroux's double with one of his own, bringing home the junior catcher and picking up his fifth RBI of the season. Shortstop
Oliver Hart capped the inning off with a single to right field, scoring Lyons and giving Northeastern the 3-2 lead.
With the lead, Ferguson found his rhythm on the mound and kept the Tribe off the scoreboard until he was taken out of the game at the end of the seventh.
Through three starts and 21 innings pitched so far this season, Ferguson has a 1.71 ERA, 17 strikeouts and just six walks to go along with his 2-0 record.
Northeastern tacked on another run in the top of the eighth inning when Fonseca hit a solo home run to left center field to make it 4-2.
Senior hurler
Sam Berg came on and got out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth, allowing just one run before getting Stephen Arcure to line out and end the inning.
Freshman
Michael Foster came in to shut the door in the ninth for his second save of the season after playing the first eight innings at second base and going 1-4.
Northeastern will open Friedmond Diamond for the season on Wednesday afternoon when the Brown Bears make the trip to Brookline. Game time is at 3:30 p.m.
