James Madison (9-22-1, 4-11) scored 16 runs on 20 hits in the series finale Sunday afternoon to beat Northeastern (12-14, 3-9) 16-7 and sweep the weekend series.

Jason Vosler and junior
Pete Castoldi each hit solo home runs for the Huskies in the loss.
Nick Berger made his first career start on the mound but took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits through three innings.
For the Dukes, Evan Scott picked up his first win of the season after pitching five innings and allowing six runs on six hits. Relievers Aaron Hoover, Johnny Bladel and Chris Huffman combined to allow just one run in the final four innings.
The Huskies got off to a quick start in the top of the first, scoring two runs to take an early lead. Junior
John Puttress got on with a one-out walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After
Matt Miller flied out to left,
Jon Leroux brought Puttress home with a double to left field. Vosler then came up and singled to center, scoring Leroux.
JMU wasted no time, responding with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 lead. The inning was highlighted by a two-run home run by Evan Scott.
Northeastern got one run back in the top of the second when
Connor Lyons singled home
Oliver Hart, who had reached on a double to left field and stole third base.
The Dukes extended the lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the third, scoring two runs on three consecutive hits by Cole McInturff, Carroll and Hoover.
After Puttress hit a two-run single to cut the lead to 6-5 in the top of the fourth,
Dylan Maki came on to pitch the bottom of the inning. A single by Conner Brown got things started and Bradley Shaban hit an RBI double to keep JMU on top, 7-5.
Vosler hit a one-out home run to cut the lead to 7-6 in the top of the fifth, but JMU scored one back once again in the bottom of the inning when Ian Haynes singled to left field to drive in McInturff.
Haynes brought home another run with a single in the bottom of the seventh to plate Carroll and make it 9-6 Dukes.
Castoldi homered in the top of the eighth to bring the Huskies within two runs, but JMU opened up the game with seven runs on five hits in the last half of the eighth. Sophomore
Mike Hanlon came on to clean up the mess and was able to get Shaban to fly out to left to end the inning.
The Huskies were retired in order in the ninth, ending the game.
Northeastern has a day off and will then face the University of Massachusetts in the first round of the Beanpot Tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
