Welcome to Meet The Huskies, an in-depth look at the Northeastern women's ice hockey team. Each week, GoNU.com will feature one student-athlete from the women's ice hockey squad and find out about their lives on and off the ice. This week, we meet junior forward Claire Santostefano from Wilmette, Ill.

WHY NORTHEASTERN?
I chose Northeastern because I loved the idea of going to school in the city, especially a city like Boston. Northeastern has the campus feel and the location of it being in the city makes Northeastern the greatest school!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PREGAME MEAL?
Ham and cheese omelet and an iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts

WHAT PLAYER DO YOU MODEL YOUR GAME AFTER AND WHY?
Jonathan Toews from the Chicago Blackhawks. He is such a solid player and is not afraid to get dirty and fight for the puck in the corners. I try to take after him as much as I can!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOCKEY MEMORY?
Winning the Beanpot against BU last season. It was just such an amazing feeling to skate around, holding the Beanpot above my head!

THREE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE MYSELF AS A HOCKEY PLAYER:
• Hard working
• Tough
• Determined

WHY DO YOU WEAR YOUR JERSEY NUMBER?
13 has been the number that everyone in my family has always worn. They say that it is a lucky number in the Italian culture and with me being 50% Italian, it is only the perfect number for me!

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT COLLEGE SO FAR?
Balancing schoolwork with hockey. It takes a very organized person to be able to get through college easily with everything we have going on as student-athletes.

MY TEAMMATES WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS:
Santo, "OMG I love that song", energetic, talkative

I CAN'T GO ON A ROAD TRIP WITHOUT:
iPhone, headphones, laptop, homework

I HOPE DO TO THIS BEFORE GRADUATION:
Make it to NCAA's!

Santostefano and the Huskies will be back in action on Thursday night when Northeastern travels to Durham, N.H. to faceoff with New Hampshire at the Whittemore Center, beginning at 7 p.m.
