BOSTON – Originally scheduled to host Brown in its opener, Northeastern is set to welcome crosstown rival Boston College for the Huskies' first home game of the year on Wednesday. First pitch between NU (8-6, 1-2 CAA) and BC (3-11, 0-3 ACC) is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Friedman Diamond.

This marks the first of three potential meetings between the two schools this season. The Huskies and Eagles have a home-and-home scheduled and can potentially meet in the Beanpot finals (April 29) at Fenway Park. Because of the schedule change, Wednesday's contest will replace either the March 20 or March 26 meeting and will likely be played in Chestnut Hill.

The Eagles come to Friedman Diamond 3-11 overall and 0-3 in the ACC following a sweep by No. 12 Florida State last weekend. In nine games started, John Hennessy  leads BC at the plate, batting .346 (9-for-26) with seven runs scored, two triples, two doubles and four RBI. With a midweek showdown typically being a staff day, BC is likely to throw a bevy of pitchers, starting with Hunter Gordon. Gordon enters the day 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in 3.0 innings pitched.

For the Huskies, Isaac Lippert looks to get the start on the hill, his second of the year. Lippert earned a no decision in his first start of the season, going 4.0 innings in the win over Villanova on March 6. At the plate, NU looks to continue to receive support from a few talented Huskies in Connor Lyons (.346, two doubles, four RBI, six runs), Jason Vosler (.317, a triple, five doubles, 12 RBI, eight runs) and Brad Burcroff (.302, five doubles, five RBI, five runs). Rob Fonseca also is on a hot streak coming into the rivalry game, batting .300 (6-for-20), including two doubles and a home run, with four runs scored and six RBI in Northeastern's last five games.
