BOSTON – Northeastern looks to get back to its winning ways this week with two midweek showdowns before another home conference series. The Huskies travel first to New Britain, Conn., to take on the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils today (Monday) at 2:30 p.m., before returning to the Hub to square off with the Eagles of Boston College for a second time this year on Tuesday.

Though Northeastern has lost five in a row, the Huskies have only been outscored 9-4 in that span, a tip of the cap to the pitching and fielding the Red and Black displayed each game. NU looks to right the ship against the Blue Devils, who are 9-6 and a perfect 4-0 in the Northeast Conference, and the Eagles, who are 3-18 and are looking to win their first conference game in the tough ACC.

CCSU is riding a five-game winning streak since starting NEC play, thanks in part to a four-game sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson over the weekend. Tyler McIntyre is a big reason why the Blue Devils are finding success at the plate, as the senior infielder is batting .475 (29-for-61) with seven doubles, a triple and two home runs to total a team-high 18 RBI. J.P. Sportman adds some offense himself, hitting .327 (18-for-55) with six doubles, a triple and a home run with 11 RBI.

Northeastern has squared off with Central Connecticut State 27 times since 1987, and is 17-10 all-time against CCSU (7-6 in New Britain). The Huskies have won their last three contests as the road team against the Blue Devils dating back to 2003.

Boston College has struggled some of late, having lost 10 in a row since March 6. The Huskies handled the Eagles in an earlier matchup this season, taking a 10-1 final score. Logan Hoggarth (.233) and John Hennessy (.265) have stepped up for BC, combining for 13 runs and nine RBI on the year so far.
