BOSTON—In a battle from beyond the arc, The Northeastern women's basketball team (7-11, 1-4 CAA) fought to the final second, but Drexel (9-9, 4-1 CAA) held on to defeat the Huskies, 55-52, on Sunday afternoon at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

Rachel Pearson set the pace for Drexel, leading all scorers with 23 points.
Sally put the Huskies on the board first with a shot from behind the arc before adding a steal to put the ball back in Northeastern's hand. NU took advantage of the possession as Tunstull and Mercier teamed up to record the next five points for a quick 8-0 start. A 3-pointer and layup brought the Dragons within four, but five points from Montagne gave the Huskies a nine-point cushion.
Drexel challenged the Huskies with a 10-0 tear to take the lead, 15-14, but NU responded with back-to-back treys for a five-point advantage. The teams exchanged 3-pointers in the final minutes as the Huskies and Dragons tallied seven treys, collectively.
The final 3-pointer of the first frame triggered a 7-0 run for Drexel to put the Dragons up, 32-24. Tunstull broke DU's momentum with a layup, but it was not enough to stop the Dragons from entering halftime with the lead, 32-26.
Stewart and DeFreese teamed up to open the second half with a pair of treys and close the deficit to four, 36-32, but Pearson drained consecutive 3-pointers of her own to give Drexel a double-figure lead. The Dragons held a double-digit advantage through five minutes of play until Montagne's third trey of the night kept the Huskies alive, 51-45. Northeastern came within three points twice down the stretch, but Drexel walked away with the win, 55-52.
For the game, Northeastern shot 39 percent (16-41) from the floor, 44 percent (10-23) from long range, and 71 percent (10-14) from the charity stripe. The Huskies won the rebounding battle, 35-27.
