Redshirt sophomore Breeana Koemans and freshman Kayla Cappuzzo each scored their first collegiate goals as the Huskies thrashed Towson, 4-0, at Parsons Field on Oct. 3. Senior Lahaina Zoller and sophomore Mackenzie Dowd also scored, while Cappuzzo, freshman Carly Wilhelm, senior Bianca Calderone and sophomore Carina Deandreis each added assists. The victory helped Northeastern improve to 8-3-2 on the year and 3-0-0 in the early stages of CAA play. Senior Paige Burnett earned her 23rd career shutout with one save as the Huskies outshot the Tigers by a 14-2 margin.

Caparo scores 10 seconds in; Huskies beat Maine 4-0
 
Redshirt freshman Taylor Caparo scored the fastest goal in NU women's soccer history when she put Northeastern in front of Maine just 10 seconds into the match on Sept. 7. Senior Lahaina Zoller, sophomore Mackenzie Dowd and sophomore Hayley Sinclair added to the scoreline to help Northeastern to the first of four 4-0 wins on the year. Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo served up two assists and senior Paige Burnett posted her fourth shutout of the year as NU moved to 3-2-1 on the season.

Freshmen dazzle in season opener vs. UMass Lowell
 
Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo scored her first two collegiate goals, both off assists from fellow freshman Kayla Cappuzzo, as the Huskies took care of UMass Lowell, 3-0, in the season opener on Aug. 22 at Parsons Field. Sophomore Carina Deandreis also scored her first collegiate goal as the Huskies picked up their first win over a non-conference opponent in nearly two years. Northeastern outshot UML by a 17-5 margin and earned the first of 17 shutouts on the year.

Slade strikes early as NU downs UNH, 1-0
 
Sophomore Kimberly Slade scored her first collegiate goal just 1:39 into the match as Northeastern topped New Hampshire, 1-0, at Parsons Field on Aug. 31. Senior Lahaina Zoller set up the goal with a run down the right flank, before crossing to Slade for a powerful, first-time finish in the center of the box. The Huskies outshot the eventual America East champions, 26-4, and held a 10-1 margin in corner kicks.

Lopiccolo's late equalizer helps NU draw Delaware
 
Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo scored in the 85th minute to help the Huskies earn a 2-2 draw against Delaware on Oct. 24 at Parsons Field. The Blue Hens twice took the lead, but Northeastern was able to rally on both occasions. After falling behind early in the match, Northeastern equalized at 1-1 when junior Shayna Blackwood poked home a feed from senior Bianca Calderone in the 36th minute. Delaware went back in front on 80 minutes, but the lead lasted only five minutes as Lopiccolo took a feed from senior Lahaina Zoller and slotted home the tying strike just 4:43 from the final horn.

Cappuzzo lifts Huskies to gritty 1-0 win at UNCW
 
Freshman Kayla Cappuzzo scored her second goal of the season to lift the Huskies to a 1-0 win at UNCW on Oct. 17 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo set up the goal with a cross from the left wing that Cappuzzo fired home. The win helped Northeastern (10-4-2) move into a first-place tie with James Madison atop the CAA standings with a 5-1-0 conference record. Senior Paige Burnett made two saves to give NU its 12th shutout in 16 games on the year.

Northeastern silences JMU in CAA title game rematch
 
In a rematch of the 2013 CAA championship game, the Huskies once again proved to be too much for James Madison in a 2-0 victory on Oct. 5 at Parsons Field. Senior Lahaina Zoller scored the game-winner just over seven minutes into the match, taking a feed from freshman Carly Wilhelm, and slotting it by JMU keeper Ellen Forrest on a breakaway. Northeastern added a second goal in the 57th minute when Wilhelm was dragged down in the box, resulting in a penalty kick. Sophomore Mackenzie Dowd stepped up and sent Forrest the wrong way for her team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Huskies take down William & Mary on Dowd's late goal
 
Sophomore Mackenzie Dowd fired home a loose ball in the 80th minute to help Northeastern to a 1-0 win at William & Mary–its first-ever road win over the Tribe–on Sept. 26 in Williamsburg, Va. Following a Breeana Koemans corner kick, the ball pinballed in the box momentarily, before finding the foot of Dowd, who stuffed it home for her second goal of the year. The win snapped the Tribe's six-game winning streak and gave the Huskies a win in their CAA opener.

Lopiccolo's five points help NU to 4-0 win at Elon
 
Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo scored twice and added an assist as the Huskies set a new program record with their ninth shutout of the year in a 4-0 win at Elon on Sept. 28. Lopiccolo's first goal came off a cross from redshirt freshman Taylor Caparo in the 65th minute, and her second came just five minutes later on a solo effort from long range. Sophomores Carina Deandreis and Mackenzie Dowd also scored, while senior Bianca Calderone had two assists. The win bumped the Huskies to 7-3-2 overall and 2-0-0 in CAA play.

Huskies cruise by William & Mary to advance to CAA final
 
The Huskies booked a place in their second consecutive CAA championship game with a 4-0 win over William & Mary in the CAA semifinals on Nov. 7 at Parsons Field. Senior Bianca Calderone, freshman Kayla Cappuzzo, junior Shayna Blackwood and sophomore Mackenzie Dowd scored for top-seeded Northeastern, which netted two goals in each half. Senior Paige Burnett tied a season high with six saves as the Huskies posted shutout No. 15 on the year.

Blackwood's goal helps NU clinch CAA regular season title
 
Junior Shayna Blackwood scored in the 61st minute to help Northeastern claim the CAA regular season crown with a 1-0 win over Drexel on Senior Day at Parsons Field on Oct. 26. The victory gave NU its second CAA regular season title in program history and handed the Huskies home-field advantage throughout the postseason and a bye to the conference semifinals. Prior to the match, Northeastern honored its seven seniors: Paige Burnett, Bianca Calderone, Maria Lanyi, Kelsey McCarthy, Amy Steele, Awnalisa Walker and Lahaina Zoller.

Late Calderone goal lifts NU to 1-0 win at BU
 
Senior Bianca Calderone scored off a Breeana Koemans corner kick in the 85th minute to help Northeastern pick up a big 1-0 win at Boston University on Sept. 14 at Nickerson Field. The win was bittersweet as NU lost senior tri-captain Maria Lanyi to a season-ending injury in the first half, but the squad showed resiliency to rally around its fallen leader and respond with its first victory over BU since 2008. Led by Calderone and fellow senior Awnalisa Walker, the Huskies' defense held the Terriers–the No. 2 team in the Mid-Atlantic Region–to just two shots on goal in the match.

History! NU earns first-ever NCAA tournament win, 2-0 at BU
 
The Northeastern women's soccer team made history with its first-ever NCAA tournament win, 2-0, at Boston University on Nov. 15. The Huskies took the lead on a 29th minute own-goal following a Carly Wilhelm shot, and then doubled the advantage in the 78th minute when redshirt freshman Taylor Caparo slotted home a feed from Kayla Cappuzzo in the box. Senior Paige Burnett was phenomenal in net, making six saves to help NU book a place in the second round of the NCAA tournament against No. 2 Florida State. Northeastern also became the first team all year to score more than one goal in a game against Boston University.

Repeat! Huskies silence Hofstra for second straight CAA title
 
Led by the CAA championship's Most Outstanding Player, Mackenzie Dowd, the Northeastern women's soccer team claimed its second straight CAA title with a 2-0 win over No. 3 seed Hofstra on Nov. 9 at Parsons Field. Dowd scored her second goal of the CAA championship with the game-winner in the 12th minute off a Breeana Koemans corner kick. Freshman Hannah Lopiccolo then added a crucial insurance marker in the 70th minute to help the Huskies become the first team since William & Mary in 2000-01 to repeat as the CAA champion.
