BOSTON – A five-run fourth inning propelled No. 23 Texas A&M past the Northeastern baseball team Saturday afternoon, 11-2, despite a 3-for-5, two-run effort by senior outfielder
Sean Lyons.

James Mulry kept the Aggies off the board the through the first two innings to allow the Huskies to grab a 1-0 lead when
Jason Vosler (1-for-4, RBI, BB) hit a two-out single to score Lyons, but A&M rallied for two runs in the bottom of the third inning and five more in the fourth to take a commanding 7-2 lead.
J.B. Moss started the fourth-inning rally for the Aggies when he led off by reaching on an error, and Jace Statum followed with a bunt single. Patrick McLendon hit a two-RBI single to score Statum and McLendon, giving the Aggies a 4-1 edge. Hunter Melton hit an RBI single and Troy Stein hit a two-RBI double to cap off the fourth inning.
The Huskies threatened to score in the fifth inning when Lyons (3-for-5, 2R) and
Michael Foster (1-for-4) hit consecutive singles with one out, and two batters later
Rob Fonseca (0-for-4, RBI, BB) loaded the bases by drawing a walk, but A&M starting pitcher Parker Ray was able to keep the Huskies from scoring by getting
Connor Lyons (2-for-5) to groundout.
The Aggies added four more runs in the eighth inning, and an RBI groundout by Fonseca in the top of the ninth accounted for the Huskies' second run.
"We didn't play well today, and we made some mistakes that we need to correct, which we will," said Northeastern assistant coach
Mike Glavine. "Overall we had plenty of positive things happen on the mound and at the plate that we can build upon. We need to play with a lot of energy tomorrow."
The Huskies and Aggies conclude their three-game series with a 2:05 p.m. game on Sunday, Feb. 16. Northeastern's
Chris Carmain is matched up against A&M's Grayson Long.
