Coyne rejoins the Huskies after training and competing with the U.S. National Team in 2013-14. The Palos Heights, Illinois, native recorded a team-high six points at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and helped the Americans take home the silver medal. In her last season with Northeastern (2012-13), Coyne averaged two points per game, recording 68 points (37 goals, 31 assists) in just 34 games. Coyne led Northeastern to the 2013 Women's Beanpot title and an appearance in the Hockey East championship game, while finishing as a Top Ten Finalist for the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Award.

Desjardins returns to the crease for her senior season after a standout 2013-14 campaign. The Saint-Prosper, Beauce, Quebec, native started 34 games and posted a 2.31 GAA, including a 2.08 mark in Hockey East play, and a .925 save percentage. Desjardins enters the season needing 20 wins to become Northeastern's all-time winningest goaltender.

The Huskies take the ice for the first time on Sept. 28 for an exhibition contest against the Montreal Stars. Opening faceoff from Matthews Arena is set for 2 p.m.
