BOSTON – Two days after earning its largest victory ever against local foe Boston University (77-44), the Northeastern women's basketball team will look to string two wins together on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Siena as the Huskies and Saints meet for a 2 p.m. game in Loudonville, New York. NU will enter the contest in search of its first 2-0 start since 1984-85 (31 seasons).
Â
ALL-TIME AGAINST SIENAÂ
Sunday's game will be the seventh all-time meeting between Northeastern and Siena, with the Huskies trailing the Saints, 2-4, in the series. The schools have not played against each other since Dec. 10, 1991, when the Huskies lost an 85-69 decision to Siena at Cabot Center. Northeastern is winless in four straight games against the Saints, but the Huskies will have the opportunity to snap the streak on Sunday and claim their first victory against Siena since Jan 6, 1987 (W, 68-64).
Â
SCOUTING THE SAINTSÂ
The Huskies will be the Saints' second opponent of the 2015-16 season after Siena lost a 57-40 contest to St. Bonaventure on Nov. 13. Last year, the Saints came within one basket of winning the 2015 WBI championship, losing the title game, 52-50, to Louisiana-Lafayette. Siena is also one of 10 teams on Northeastern's 2015-16 schedule that won 20 or more games a year ago, as the defending MAAC semifinalists finished with a 22-13 (11-9 MAAC) record.
Â
IT'S TOUGH TO WIN TWO FOR NUÂ
Northeastern has started 2-0 only six times in program history. With a win on Sunday against Siena, the Huskies would be 2-0 for the first time in 31 seasons (1984-85). Here is a look at Northeastern's 2-0 starts:

Â
NU EARNS HISTORIC VICTORY IN RIVALRYÂ

Â
COLE PERFECT IN SEASON OPENERSÂ
With the Huskies' Nov. 13 victory against Boston University, Northeastern head coach
Kelly Cole is a perfect 2-0 in season openers. Coincidentally, both of Cole's season-opening wins have come against BU and the Terriers' head coach, Katy Steding.
Â
DEFREESE NEARLY DOUBLES DOWNÂ
Senior co-captain
Samantha DeFreese came one rebound away from her first double-double of the 2015-16 season, finishing the Huskies' Nov. 13 game against Boston University with 24 points and nine rebounds. DeFreese tied her career high for made field goals with 10, shooting 55.5 percent (10-of-18) from the field and a perfect four-of-four from the free-throw line.
Â
STEWART'S STUNNING SECONDÂ
Co-captain

With the Huskies trailing BU, 22-12, with 7:40 to play in the second, Stewart hit two 3-pointers and drained two more jumpers to help Northeastern re-gain the lead by closing out the first half on a 16-4 run.
Â
BOARDS, BOARDS, BOARDSÂ
Northeastern's 47 total rebounds against Boston University on Nov. 13 are the most NU has pulled down in a regulation game since Nov. 29, 2014, when the Huskies' collected 50 boards in an 81-74 loss to Flordia Atlantic. NU also grabbed 15 offensive rebounds against BU on Nov. 13, the most the Huskies have secured in a regulation game since Jan. 22, 2015, when Northeastern recorded 15 in a 65-61 loss to Towson.
Â
HUSKIES PARTAKE IN CAMP "D" UPÂ
The Huskies began their 2015-16 practice season with Camp "D" Up, a program initiated by head coachÂ
Kelly Cole that featured three straight practice days of nothing but defense. Cole identified that defense was Northeastern's top priority heading into the 2015-16 season, and the program was well received by the players. Cole's Camp "D" Up" program turned out to be an immediate success as the Huskies held Boston University to just 44 points on Nov. 13, the lowest NU has allowed in two seasons under Cole's leadership.
Â
DEFREESE GARNERS PRESEASON ALL-CAAÂ
One season after being named to the 2014-15 All-CAA Third Team,Â
Samantha DeFreese was selected to the 2015-16 Preseason All-CAA Second Team, as announced by the conference during CAA Basketball Media Day on Oct. 27. DeFreese was one of three forwards to receive Preseason All-CAA status, joining Drexel's Sarah Curran and Hofstra's Ashunae Durant. Last season, DeFreese was the eighth Northeastern player in program history to be named All-CAA.
