BOSTON -- The Northeastern track and field program put together one of its finest weekends in program history, resulting in first-place finishes for both the men and women at the New England Championships.
Â
It's the program's first dual championship, dating back to 2000 indoor season.
Â
The women have now claimed the Championship in consecutive years and three times overall since the 2004 season.
"We had an incredible finish," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Cathrine Erickson said. "Our men and women have been working very hard and had set winning a New England Championship as one of their goals this year. I am so happy for them, the coaching staff and the program for fighting through all of the adversity. This is truly a Husky victory!"
"I want to thank all of the parents, family, and alumni for coming out to support us this weekend," Erickson said. "It was great to have so much support. This is a great group and we are so proud of each of our athletes, past and present, and we can't wait for our future Huskies to join us here next year!"
