Â
After Christian retired the side in order during the top half of the first, Northeastern settled into the batter's box determined to hit the ball deep. Foster produced the game's first hit on a triple to right field and highlighted his quick speed around the bases as the redshirt-junior notched his third three-bagger of the year. Fonseca gave Christian a lead to work with when he hit a sacrifice fly to left field, giving the Huskies a 1-0 advantage.
Â
Strong pitching by Christian kept the Mountaineers off the scoreboard during the first few innings as Mount St. Mary's could not assemble a base-hit until Call singled in the third. Burt ripped a base-hit to center in the bottom of the third and advanced to second on a balk by Kevin Myers, ultimately scoring two batters later when Foster lined out on a sacrifice to right field.

Â
Leading, 8-1, heading into the seventh inning, Northeastern blew the doors off the game with another four-run rally in the frame. Madigan singled with the bases loaded while Foster scored on a wild pitch thrown by Jeremy Hileman, and a fielding error by the Mountaineers gave NU a commanding 11-1 edge.
Â
Fonseca would pound out another two-RBI double in the eighth, while Hanley smoked an RBI-single to center field to wrap up a 15-1 victory for Northeastern.
Â
The game was called after eight innings due to darkness, marking the second consecutive win in back-to-back days the Huskies have earned with the game ending short of nine innings.
