Official resultsMEDFORD, Mass. – The Northeastern Huskies' outdoor season continued on Saturday, March 28, as the team competed in the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University.

In a fitting manner, the Huskies competed in snowy conditions, but still experienced a significant amount of success during the course of the day as a few student-athletes set new personal bests, while others enjoyed victories in their different events.

Both the men's and women's teams earned second-place with combined point totals of 100 and 96, respectively.

For Northeastern, the classic kicked off with the women's and men's 400-meter dash.
Audrey Weyand, a freshman in the program, earned a sixth-place finish after completing the dash in just 1:03.13. Her teammate
David Johnson also had a strong showing in his 400-meters, wrapping up a seventh-place finish with a time of 51.52.

In the 3000-meter run,
Danielle Klein and
Adrian Amaya started their outdoor seasons with a great effort as they both secured third place after crossing the finish line in 10:38.34 and 9:07.72. In the 1500-meter run,
David McDonald also took home third place for the Huskies as he wrapped up the run in 4:04.98.

In the 100-meter hurdles both
Kelsey Sullivan and
Jessica Dunnigan showcased their speed as they earned fourth and seventh place with times of 16.08 and 16.33, respectively.
Camille Gooden's outdoor season success continued in the 400-meter hurdles as she claimed the top spot with an impressive time of 1:09.33.

For the men,
Matthew Richards and
Connor McCarthy took home first and fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles with times of 15.25 and 16.19, while
Peter Katsarakes earned second place in the 400-meter hurdles, completing the event in just 56.85.

NU dominated in the field events, specifically the hammer throw and shot put as
Jenna Serunian,
Alexandra Rose,
James Hall and
Ryan Kim each finished in first place in the two different events. Serunian shined in the shot put, posting a personal best of 13.12 meters en route to the victory, while Rose's throw of 46.77 meters was the best amongst the competition in the hammer throw.

Kim and Hall cruised to first-place finishes in the shot put and hammer throw with tosses of 15.04 and 55.94 meters.

"I am very happy with how our hammer throwers opened up," Director of Track and Field
Cathrine Erickson said. "They are a really strong group and will be a big part of our team successes this year and in the years to come. Jenna had a personal best in the shot put and we are thrilled she was able to do that today in the snowy conditions."

Northeastern returns to the track next weekend as the team will compete at the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational and a dual meet, hosted the University of New Hampshire.
