Season StatsTOWSON, Md. – The Northeastern Huskies fell to the Towson Tigers, 4-3, at Schuerholz Park on Saturday, May. 2.

The Huskies entered the bottom of the ninth trailing by three runs, 1-4. After the first two batters were retired,
Keith Kelly showcased his patience at the plate, earning a walk to begin the rally. Then,
Rob Fonseca, who entered the batters' box with 27 RBIs, homered to left center, scoring Kelly and cutting the deficit to one run, 3-4. The homerun is his ninth of the season, a team high.

The next batter for NU was
Cam Hanley, who recorded a single. With the tying run on first base,
Pat Madigan lined out to left field to end the game.

The Huskies received solid production out of starting pitcher
Dustin Hunt, who ended his afternoon after pitching 7+ innings, recording nine strikeouts and allowing four earned runs.

Hunt opened the game extremely well, striking out five Tigers through two innings. He ended his day with 69 strikes out of 110 total pitches.

Towson opened the game's scoring in the bottom of the second when Brady Policelli singled through left field to score Peter Bowles. Hunt, however, kept his composure, rebounded, and ended the inning allowing just the one earned run.Â

The Tigers would score again just a few innings later when Chris Henze homered to left center. NU, however, would respond in the following inning when Hanley recorded his third triple of the season as he connected on a pitch to right-center field.

In the following at-bat, Madigan drove a pitch deep, recording a double – his eighth of the season – scoring Hanley to cut the deficit to one, 2-1.

After allowing the first two batters to get on in the bottom of the seventh,
Isaac Lippert replaced Hunt on the mound. Towson would then go on to score two more runs as Mark Grunberg singled to center to score Brendan Butler, while Colin Dyer followed with a single of his own to score Tristan Howerton.

Madigan now has 24 RBIs on the season, just four shy of the team high, which belongs to
Michael Foster. NU finished the game with five hits and one error. The Tigers, meanwhile, recorded eight hits with no errors.

NU and Towson will close out their weekend series tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Huskies are set to take on Hartford on Tuesday, May 5. The team then travels to Williamsburg, Virginia, for a showdown against the Tribe of William and Mary, which is set to begin on Friday, May 8.
