Championship CentralCAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Northeastern Huskies wrapped up the New England Championships on Saturday, as two members of the men's team competed in the 400-meter hurdles.
The championships were hosted by MIT.
Fresh off the men's team claiming its first Colonial Athletic Association title, NU is looking to carry the momentum from the past two weekends into the IC4A/ECAC Championships next weekend.
Peter Katsarakes took home 13th overall in the hurdles with a time of 54.80. The freshman has posted a solid season, earning five top-five finishes during the course of the year. Of those five, he has claimed first or second place four times.
Joining Katsarakes in the event was
Anthony Pavlich, who crossed the finish line in 56.49 seconds to earn 25th place. The Woodlands, Texas, native has four top-five finishes this season in the 400-meter hurdles, including taking home the top spot at the Minuteman Invitational.
The program will now turn its attention to the IC4A and ECAC Championships. The meets will be held in Princeton, New Jersey, and will be hosted by the Princeton Tigers. At the indoor championships earlier this season, the Huskies finished in 12th and 43rd place. The championships kick off on Thursday, May 14 and conclude on Saturday, May 16.
