2015-16 CAA OpponentsBOSTON – Northeastern women's basketball head coach
Kelly Cole proudly announced the Huskies' 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday. NU will play 15 games this season against teams that advanced to the postseason last year and 10 games against teams that are coming off 20-win campaigns or better.
Â
A new feature of the 2015-16 CAA schedule, all conference games will take place this season on either Fridays or Sundays, with the exception of the regular-season finale on Wednesday, March 2. The CAA adopted the change during the offseason in an effort to provide its member teams with more consistent game days and practice days.
Â
Coach Cole believes the new schedule format for conference games will be well received by the league's head coaches this season.
Â
"The Friday-Sunday aspect of this year's conference schedule is huge," said Cole. "Having coached in the Ivy League where we would play back-to-backs, this is a great step for the CAA and for our student-athletes. Not only will it positively affect our travel come January and February, but I am confident it will have a positive affect on our student-athletes and their coursework as well."
Â
With programs like Quinnipiac, Michigan State, and Missouri on the team's 2015-16 schedule, Cole is also aware of the challenges the Huskies will face from their opponents this season.
Â
"There is a ton of parity in women's basketball right now, especially in the CAA," said Cole. "Every game will certainly be challenging, but every game is also very winnable."
All game times listed on Northeastern's 2015-16 season schedule are Eastern and are subject to change. Women's basketball season tickets for adults are available at $40, while season tickets for all youth, Northeastern staff, and young alumni are available at $25.
