BOSTON – After winter storm Juno had initially postponed Sunday's women's basketball game between Northeastern and Drexel, the two programs will be able to wrap up their regular-season series at Cabot Center on Monday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. The Huskies have already defeated the Dragons once this year, having shut out Drexel, 8-0, in overtime to earn a 73-65 victory on Jan. 8.Â
ALL-TIME AGAINST DREXELÂ
Northeastern and Drexel have only played each other as members of the same conference, crossing paths in the America East (and its predecessor, North Atlantic Conference) between 1992 and 2001, as well as annually in the CAA since 2006. NU owned a 16-7 advantage against the Dragons during both programs' stay in the America East, but Drexel has won 16 of the 20 CAA matchups between the two schools. Overall, the Huskies trail the Dragons, 20-23, in the all-time series.
SCOUTING THE DRAGONSOne of the top shooting teams in the CAA, Drexel (8-9, 4-2 CAA) leads the league in team free-throw percentage (77.2 percent) and 3-point field-goal percentage (37.7 percent), and is fourth in overall field goal percentage (39.1 percent). With 148, 3-point makes this season, a mark that is tied for 20th best in the nation, the Dragons can be lethal from the perimeter if not kept in check. Preseason All-CAA First Team selection Sarah Curran (16.1 points, 5.5 rebounds per game) leads the way for Drexel, with Preseason All-CAA Second Team mention Rachel Pearson (13.6 points, 2.4 rebounds per game) directly behind her.
