BOSTON -- Former Northeastern men's ice hockey defenseman Josh Manson was a guest on NHL Now Monday afternoon on the NHL Network. The Anaheim Ducks blueliner talked about his father's career in the NHL, his college career at Northeastern, and his first NHL game.
Manson is in the second year of a two-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks. In 71 games last season, he tallied five goals and 10 assists, along with 74 penalty minutes.
Manson was a sixth round draft pick (160th overall) by Anaheim in the 2011 entry draft. In his three seasons as a Husky, Manson anchored the blue line while still putting up 21 points in his collegiate career. Following his junior season on Huntington Avenue, Manson chose to forgo his final season of collegiate eligibility and sign with the Ducks. He's in his third full professional season this year.
Back in Boston, the 2016-17 Huskies are in action for two home games this weekend against Arizona State, beginning Friday night at 7 p.m. from Matthews Arena.
