Northeastern (1-0) will be taking the court two days after earning a season-opening victory against Boston University, 78-59, at Cabot Center. Sophomore point guard
Jess Genco set a new career high with 27 points during the contest, shooting seven-of-nine from behind the 3-point arc. Eight different players scored for the Huskies, including senior center

NU will be returning the second leg of a two-year, home-and-home, with the Golden Griffins on Sunday. Last season, both teams combined to make 21 3-point shots, despite Northeastern coming up short, 68-57, at the final buzzer. Then-freshmen Genco and
Gabby Giacone led the Huskies with 11 and 10 points, respectively, with Giacone finishing two boards shy of a double-double.
Â
Sunday's game will also be the seventh all-time meeting between Northeastern and Canisius. The Huskies trail in the series, 5-1, with their lone victory coming on Dec. 20, 2005, on the Griffins' home floor.
