BOSTON – Winners of four consecutive games, the Northeastern women's basketball team looks to make it five straight on Friday, Feb. 26, at Cabot Center as the Huskies host College of Charleston in a 4 p.m. CAA matchup. NU looks to remain undefeated during its three-game home stand, coming off two victories last weekend against Delaware (W, 57-54) and UNCW (W, 69-52).

ALL-TIME AGAINST COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON

The Huskies and the Cougars have clashed only as conference opponents during each of the last two seasons, with NU trailing Charleston, 3-2, all-time. A victory on Friday would level up the all-time series at three apiece, but Northeastern has yet to defeat the Cougars on its home floor. The visiting team has traditionally held the advantage in the series, winning four of the five meetings.

STREAKING HUSKIES

Northeastern has been on a roll during the month of February, having won four consecutive games and five out of its last six. NU last celebrated a four-game winning streak during the 2012-13 season when the Huskies strung together as many as five straight victories from Nov. 20 to Dec. 22. Considering conference games only, Northeastern last won four in a row during the 2007-08 campaign, winning the final six regular-season games of the season before topping George Mason in the first round of the CAA tournament.

TURNING THE TABLES

In her second season as head coach of Northeastern, Kelly Cole has guided the Huskies to eight more victories than her first year, including six more CAA wins. Cole's turnaround ranks in a tie for the seventh best in the nation with Charleston Southern, South Alabama, and UC Santa Barbara. Here is a look at the top Division I turnarounds this season:

HUSKIES RAKING IN WEEKLY AWARDS

Northeastern is one of only three schools in the CAA this year (James Madison, William & Mary) that has had four different players receive a weekly award by the conference. Sophomore shooting guard Claudia Ortiz collected her first ever CAA Player of the Week accolade on Feb. 22 having notched the first and second double-doubles of her career the week before, posting identical score lines of 11 points and a career high, 10 rebounds. She joins Samantha DeFreese (two-time Player), Jess Genco (two-time Rookie), and Gabby Giacone (Rookie) as the Huskies' weekly winners this season.

GENCO SETS FRESHMAN ASSIST RECORD

On Feb. 21 against UNCW, rookie Jess Genco broke the Northeastern freshman assist record, set previously at 97 by Jody Burrows during the 2003-04 season. Genco registered her record-breaking 98th assist during the Huskies' very first basket of the game, a 3-pointer by senior Kazzidy Stewart. The first-year point guard finished the afternoon with three assists, bringing her freshman total to an even 100. Northeastern alumna Desiree Clagon holds the 10th spot on the Huskies' single-season assist list at 113, which she achieved during the 1982-83 season.

DRIVING WITH 4 40 AC

The Huskies have been cruising with the windows down during their active four-game winning streak, shooting greater than 40 percent from the field during each victory. NU is 10-2 this year when exceeding 40 percent from the floor and 7-1 when knocking down at least 25 field goals.

THE FIELD GOAL IS GOOD

Northeastern's 27 field goal makes against UNCW on Feb. 12 are the most the Huskies have made in a CAA game since Feb. 15, 2015, also against the Seahawks (31). Here is a look at Northeastern's top shooting performances this season by number of made field goals:

NU TO PLAY NEXT SEASON IN MEXICO

On Feb. 10, Northeastern was one of 10 schools selected to compete next season in the 2016 Women's Cancun Challenge, to be held at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. The Huskies will be paired in the tournament's Mayan Division and will play three round-robin games against Stanford, Purdue, and Wichita State between Nov. 24 and Nov. 26. NU will be playing outside of the contiguous United States for the first time in program history.

DEFREESE JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB

Senior Samantha DeFreese scored her 1,000th career point at home on Feb. 7 against James Madison. The milestone came with 4:28 remaining in the third quarter, when DeFreese was fouled while making a layup in the paint. She completed the three-point play at the line following the media timeout, bringing NU level with JMU at 36-36. DeFreese is the 19th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark.

DEFREESE ON THE NU ALL-TIME CHARTS

Entering Friday afternoon's game against College of Charleston, Samantha DeFreese is 18th on Northeastern's all-time scoring list (1,069 career points) and 12 points away from tying A'lece Mark (2011-15) for 17th. She is also 19 points away from tying Lani Lawrence (1997-01) for 16th in scoring. With 663 career rebounds, DeFreese is ranked in sole possession of seventh place in program history and needs 10 boards to tie Pam Green (1982-86) for sixth all-time.

FINDING THE PERFECT BALANCE

NU has observed at least four players reach double figures during each of the Huskies' last four games (all victories). Northeastern has also witnessed at least five players score eight points or more during each of the Huskies' last three games. Of note, NU has had at least one bench player score eight or more points during its last three games, including Zoe Zwerling's 13-point performance at Elon on Feb. 14 and Francesca Sally's 10-point evening against Delaware on Feb. 19.
