BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team was up 16 points before Delaware was able to get on the board en route to a 90-54 thrashing of the Blue Hens Thursday night.

With the win the Huskies extended their win-streak to six games and begin the CAA season 3-0 for the second-straight year. Delaware falls to 7-9 on the year and 0-3 in conference play.

The 36-point victory was the biggest of the Bill Coen era, besting a 34-point, 79-45 win over Drexel on Jan. 9, 2008, and was the largest win ever over Delaware as Northeastern has beaten the Blue Hens by at least 30-points in consecutive seasons.

The win was also the largest win since a 105-57 victory over Lasell on Nov. 22, 2005 and the biggest over a Division-I opponent since a 96-58 victory over Boston University on March 2, 1993.

In addition, the 58 first half points were the most in a half during the Bill Coen era and the most in a half against a Division-I opponent since putting up 58 against Delaware in the second half of their Jan. 16, 2000 game at Matthews Arena.

The Huskies connected on a school-record 21 threes in the rout, including five each by freshmen Shawn Occeus and Bolden Brace. That duo combined for 32 points on the night, a career-high 17 for Occeus and 15 for Brace.

T.J. Williams added 18 points and a career-high 11 assists in the win, tallying his third double-double of the season and keeping his streak of at least 16-points in each game this season active at 15-straight games.

Each Husky who stepped foot on the court tallied at least four points as the team was 60.8 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from behind the arc on the night dishing out 29 assists on their 31 baskets.

The 29 assists tonight by the Huskies were the most since notching 31 assists on Dec. 4, 1993 against George Mason.

Northeastern began the night on a 16-0 run before Delaware was able to get on the board, extending the run to 27-2 to start the game.

Anthony Green started things off with a slam followed by an Alex Murphy three, and a T.J. Williams three before Delaware called its first timeout of the game. Out of the break Green laid one in, Brace connected on his first three of the game, and Murphy added another, as Delaware called yet another timeout with the Huskies up 16-0.

Cazmon Hayes finally got Delaware on the board with a layup at the 14:53 mark, but Brace responded with his second three of the game, followed by a Devon Begley trey and capped off by a T.J. Williams dunk to take a 27-2 lead in the first eight minutes of action.

Northeastern never looked back, finishing the first half with 14 threes and a 40-point, 58-18 advantage.

Delaware outscored the Huskies 36-32 in the second half, but Northeastern added seven more threes to break the school record (17) set last season in a triple overtime game with Hofstra on Jan. 21, 2016. Northeastern only needed 40 minutes for today's record.

Shawn Occeus connected on the record breaking three, his third and the Huskies' 18th of the night, adding another couple for good measure down the stretch.

The Huskies look to keep the offense going on Saturday night when they continue their three-game homestand with a 7 p.m. contest against James Madison. Northeastern has won their last two home games by an average of 28 points.
