Box Score | 2017 Season Statistics | Infographic | Senior Career Tallies

WILMINGTON, N.C. – After remaining scoreless with UNCW for more than an hour on Saturday night, the Northeastern men's soccer team was trending towards securing a road point until Phillip Goodrum's unassisted goal during the 73rd minute put the Huskies behind permanently, 1-0, during the Huskies' 2017 regular-season finale.

Northeastern (3-12-3, 1-6-1 CAA) registered two second half attempts against the Seahawks, but went the duration of the match without generating a shot on target. Harry Swartz had his 49th-minute attempt blocked and had nearly put the Huskies on the scoreboard first less than 90 seconds later, while Dan Munch curled Northeastern's 81st-minute free kick around the outside corner of the right post.

UNCW (10-6-0, 5-3-0 CAA) recorded 14 attempts on Saturday, split evenly – seven and seven – across the two halves, yet only produced three shots on target. Goodrum converted on his one (and only) shot on target, while Emil Elveroth and David Lozano led Jonathan Thuresson into making saves during the 18th and 65th minutes, respectively. The Seahawks also outgained the Huskies in corners, 9-1.

Northeastern will graduate five seniors from its 2017 roster (career tallies): Lewis Arid (four assists), Gaku Lange (four goals, one assist), Ackim Mpofu (seven goals, three assists), Charlton Muhlauri (two assists), and Jonathan Thuresson (11 clean sheets).

GOAL RECAP

• UNCW (73rd minute): The Seahawks managed to block Martin Nygaard's forward cross from the backfield, near the left sideline, providing UNCW with an easy counter behind the Huskies' row of defenders. Phillip Goodrum possessed the deflection and made an unassisted run towards the net, firing low and across the net to the left corner.

BEST NU CHANCES

• 50th minute: One minute after recording the Huskies' first attempt of the match, Harry Swartz came within feet of putting Northeastern ahead, 1-0. Swartz and Gerardo Milano nearly navigated through a two-on-five sequence, with Swartz almost putting a foot on Milano's centering cross at the top of the six-yard box.

• 81st minute: Dan Munch attempted the Huskies' free kick from 20 yards out, sending it over the UNCW wall but wide of the right post.
