PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Junior left-hander Brian Christian threw a career high, 10 strikeouts, across seven innings while Zach Perry drove in six runs as the Northeastern baseball team sprinted past Lehigh, 12-6, on Saturday afternoon at the 2017 Snowbird Classic.

Christian motored through the Mountain Hawks' lineup with ease, surrendering a run on four hits, walking none, and retiring the side in order during four of the seven innings he was on the mound. The six-foot-two righty from Plymouth, Massachusetts, helped himself relatively unscathed out of a fourth-inning, bases-loaded jam, recording the final putout of a 3-6-1 double play that scored a run despite interrupting a sequence of three straight Lehigh singles.

Zach Perry became the first Northeastern player of the decade to earn six RBIs during a single game, going three-for-three from the batter's box on Saturday. The NU designated hitter notched a pair of two-RBI singles during the second and third innings, rocketed an RBI double during the bottom of the fourth, and plated the Huskies' 10th run of the ballgame during the bottom of the sixth on an RBI sacrifice fly to right field.

Northeastern (6-7) smashed 15 hits off Lehigh's arms, returning to double-digit hit territory for the eighth time during the squad's first 13 games of 2017. Cam Hanley batted cleanup and went three-for-five with a run and an RBI double hit during the seventh inning, while Charlie McConnell went three-for-four, scoring four runs, all on Perry's swings of the bat.

Max Burt charted his seventh multi-hit game of the season, going two-for-five while crossing the plate three times. Burt powered a two-run homer over the wall during the Huskies' four-run fourth inning, cushioning Northeastern's lead at 7-1.

Together, the fourth through seventh hitters in the Huskies' lineup (Hanley, Burt, McConnell, and Perry) combined to go 11-for-17, scoring nine runs while totaling 10 RBIs.

With Christian out of the game, Lehigh (2-6) scored its second run of the game during the top of the eighth inning, benefitting from an errant throw by McConnell that placed its leadoff runner in scoring position. With a double-digit lead in hand, the Huskies were content to play for one and nab Mike Maguire at first base on his RBI groundout to second.

Ryan Malloy hit a ninth-inning grand slam off Rick Burroni to halve Northeastern's lead to 12-6, but Will Jahn came on to retrieve the final three outs of the game.
