The Colonial Athletic Association announced it's 2018 All-Conference honors on Thursday afternoon, awarding three Northeastern volleyball players. Senior
Gabrielle Eyl earned her second consecutive All-CAAÂ Defensive Specialist of the Year honor to accompany her First Team award.
Natalie Shollin collected Third Team honors while freshman
Hannah Boyd was recognized on the Rookie Team.Â
Eyl's Record Career
- Senior, Gabrielle Eyl, sits in second place for all-time digs in the Northeastern record books with 2,224 career digs through the end of the 2018 regular season. Eyl surpassed the former second place athlete, Natalie Skiba, on Sept. 16, 2018 against UMass Lowell.
- Currently, Eyl sits in 13th place in the NCAA for recorded digs per set with a 4.95 average.
- Eyl's 2018 CAA Defensive Specialist of the Year Award is her second consecutive, after earning the same award in 2017, alongside her All-CAA Second Team honors.
- She is the first in Northeastern history to earn CAA Defensive Specialist of the Year in consecutive years.
- In addition to conference accolades, Eyl was named to the top-30 list of finalists for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award, exhibiting excellence in competition, classroom, community and character across her collegiate career.

Shollin's Clip
- Junior, Natalie Shollin has earned All-CAA Third Team honors this year after registering 232 kills and 276.5 points for the Huskies' offense in 2018.
- Shollin tabbed only 35 kills in her rookie season and 160 in 2017. With her 232 kills in 2018, she surpassed the combined total of her first two seasons.
- In a home match against CAA opponent Elon, the Corona, Calif. native logged a career high 19 kills for a total of 20 points.
- Shollin had a strong showing toward the end of the season, recording a .350 clip over the past nine matches, including .400 for nine kills against Hofstra in their final regular season match. She averaged a hitting percentage over .400 in seven matches this season and over .500 in two.
- In addition to her offensive feats, Shollin has contributed 76.0 blocks to the Huskies' defense this season, sitting in second place on Northeastern's leaderboard, behind Gabrielle Tschannen who has 84.0.

Boyd's Rookie Run
- For the third consecutive year, a Northeastern freshman has earned an All-CAA Rookie Team Award. Freshman Hannah Boyd earned this year's honors after recording 320 kills and 983 total attacks for the Huskies.
- Boyd leads her team with an average 3.33 kills per set which puts her in sixth place in the CAA.
- The Texas native registered a season-high 23 kills for 23 points at New Hampshire in September, which ties for the season high kills of any Husky this season.
