FORT MYERS, Fla. – Northeastern baseball came up short against the Missouri Tigers, falling 5-2 in the first game of the series at the City of Palms Park. Mizzou went up 2-0 in the first inning and held the lead for the rest of the game.

The Huskies move to 2-2 on the season.

Junior Jake Farrell and sophomore Kyle Peterson both recorded two hits apiece for the Huskies, while sophomore Scott Holzwasser hit his second home run of the season.

Peterson singled through the right side in the fifth inning for the first Northeastern hit of the game. Holzwasser's home run in the seventh put the Huskies on the board, 3-1.

In the ninth, the Huskies scored a run after Peterson's double and senior Max Burt's RBI, but NU's rally was not enough to overcome the Tigers

Senior Brian Christian took the loss while Missouri's Bryce Montes De Oca secured the win. Christian went four innings, allowing four hits and three runs. Junior Andrew Misiaszek came in the fifth, allowing two runs and striking out five.
