4x100 relay team breaks Northeastern record for the second time

STORRS, Conn. – For the second time this season, the 4x100 relay team of Naukym Morton, Kyle Darrow, Dametrius O'Connor and Donatien Djero set a Northeastern record, as the Huskies competed at the Northeast Challenge on Saturday at the University of Connecticut.
 
Morton, Darrow, O'Connor and Djero broke their school record from earlier this season with a time of 39.77 on the way to first place. Darrow also added his name to the records book for the long jump. The senior posted a mark of 7.97 meters in the event to break his own record from 2016. 
 
Morton and O'Connor also posted personal-bests in the 100 meter, with Morton leading the way with a second-place finish and a time of 10.44, the second-best time in program history.
 
David Adams earned second place in the 400 meter hurdles, with a personal-best time of 52.19, the fourth best time in Northeastern history. Jordan Samuels also collected a second place finish in the 110 meter hurdles.
 
Ryan Kim and Spencer McKeough both secured personal-best in the shot put, on their way to first and third place, respectively. While Eric Mellusi collected a first-place finish in the discus throw, with a personal-best mark of 54.53 meters, and a fourth place finish in the hammer throw.
 
Patrice Williams and Jessica Scott both had great performances for the Red and Black, with Williams finishing first in the 200 meter and second in the 100 meter. The junior's time of 23.82 in the 200 meter is the second best time in Northeastern history. Scott earned third place in the 100 meter and sixth place in the 200 meter. 
 
Sarah Adler earned a personal best in the 800 meter on her way to a second place finish, while Audrey Weyand took fourth place in the 400 meter hurdles. Paige Suse and Khailah Griffin both took home a first place finish, Suse in the high jump and Griffin in the long jump.
 
Leeyan Redwood also secured two top-five finishes, taking third place in the shot put and fourth place in the discus throw.
