Box Score | Season Statistics | Infographic | Highlights

BROOKLINE, Mass. – Flexing its offensive prowess for the second straight day, the Northeastern baseball team steamrolled its way to the 23-6 victory against Towson on Saturday at Friedman Diamond as the Huskies upped their winning streak to seven games in a row.

Northeastern (27-15, 11-3 CAA) blitzed Towson (12-30, 5-9 CAA) for nine runs during the opening inning and never looked back, posting four more crooked numbers en route to 23 hits and another lopsided victory.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

Ian Fair successfully extended his hitting and on-base streaks to 20 and 23 games upon knocking an RBI, ground-rule double to center field during his first at-bat of the game. Fair finished the day hitting three-for-four at the plate, scoring two runs while collecting three RBIs.

Jake Farrell became the second Northeastern player during as many seasons to register six RBIs during a game (Zach Perry). Farrell went five-for-six at the plate, doubled once and tripled twice, despite scoring just one of the Huskies' 23 runs.

Charlie McConnell tied his career high with three stolen bases, raising his season tally to 24 thefts. McConnell now needs two stolen bases to match his freshman-year mark (26) and is five bags away from tying Aaron Barbosa for the program's single-season record (29).

John Mazza hammered the first home run of his collegiate career during the Huskies' two-run fourth inning.

Brian Christian struck out three batters during his five-inning start, receiving his second win of the season.

• In total, 23 players made an appearance on Saturday for Northeastern.

TEAM NOTES

• With 23 runs on Saturday, Northeastern tied its second highest scoring output during its 98-year history for the third time (1939, 1955). The Huskies' program record for runs scored is 24, set during Northeastern's 24-4 victory against Boston University during its 1945 campaign.

• Coupled with Friday's 22-2 victory against Towson, the Huskies' 45 runs this weekend have already broken the program's previous three-game series record (35), which was set against Towson during the 2009 season. Northeastern's multi-game series record for runs scored is 47, set during the Huskies' four-game sweep of NYIT during 2017.

• The Huskies' nine runs scored during the first inning of Saturday's game are the most that Northeastern has plated during an inning since NU scored 10 runs during the top of the ninth inning at Hofstra on May 7, 2016.

• Northeastern's 23 hits are the most NU has charted since the Huskies walloped 29 hits against James Madison on March 27, 2016.

• NU has attained its first seven-game winning streak since the 2009 campaign.

• The Huskies' overall record (25-13) now sits 12 games over .500 for the first time since May 15, 2004 (27-15).

• Northeastern improved its home record to 10-1 this season, which includes an 8-0 mark during home CAA games.

• NU has now won 24 of its last 26 games at Friedman Diamond.
