HANOVER, N.H.– The Northeastern women's track and field team claimed it's third straight New England Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Dartmouth College. The Huskies finished 21 points ahead of Dartmouth to capture their sixth consecutive New England title. The men took sixth place at the championships, just 13 points behind third-place New Hampshire.
Senior
Sarah Adler led the way for the Red and Black, setting a new program record in the 800 meter. The Suffern, New York posted a time of 2:07.87 on her way to first place in the event, breaking the Northeastern records from 1999.
Brooke Wojeski took a first-place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a personal-best time. The senior earned a time of 10:26.37, the third-best time on Northeastern history.
Audrey Weyand finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.87. The senior's time was the second-best time in program history, surpassing interim head coach,
Tramaine Shaw's time from 2008 by 0.01 seconds.
Patrice Williams and
Jessica Scott took first and third in the 100 meter, while
Khailah Griffin championed the long jump.
Priscilla Senoo earned a third-place finish in the discus with a personal-best mark of 43.49 meters.
Paige Suse secured first place in the high jump, while
Kurt Robakiewicz and
Travis Kartz both earned second place finishes, Robakiewicz in the triple jump and Kartz in the pole vault.
Leeyan Redwood placed second in the women's shot put, while
Andrew Cannistraci finished third place in the men's shot put.
