GREEN BAY, Wis. – Closing its weekend at the 2019 GBD Invite (hosted by Green Bay), the Northeastern women's volleyball team was unable to collect the victory during its final act of the tournament, receiving the straight-set loss against Ohio (25-18, 25-15, 25-18).

Natalie Shollin finished with five blocks and three kills to lead Northeastern (1-2) in scoring.
Brianna Daphnis and
Erica Staunton both sported five kills apiece while rookie setter
Liz Carroll tallied 13 assists and five digs in addition to serving two of the Huskies' five aces.

Ohio (2-1) applied strong service pressure throughout the match, totaling 15 aces – nine of which belonged to Lizzie Stephens. Maggie Nedoma landed seven kills on 16 attacks (hit .375) while Olivia Margolies delivered five kills on 12 attacks (hit .417).

Northeastern won the opening two points of the match but squandered six straight points to the Bobcats, playing from behind during the remainder of the opening set. Shollin blocked three attacks along the way, including two during the Huskies' series of six consecutive points that tightened the score to 19-14.

Ohio recorded 12 kills against three attack errors during the second set (hit .310), racing out to the 13-6 lead and extending it to as large as 23-9.
Athena Ardila and Stauton sandwiched third set kills around
Kayla Martin's ace to bring the Huskies within a point at 8-7. NU would remain within a point at 10-9, but surrendered a 6-2 run to Ohio that left the Bobcats in control to the end.
