Cross country to compete in Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown

BOSTON— The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams are set to participate in the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, Sept. 20 with the women's 5K scheduled to start at 3 p.m. and the men's 8K at 3:30 p.m. The event will take place in nearby Franklin Park in Jamaica Plain, Mass.  Boston College will be hosting the event that features some of the best cross country teams from across the nation.
 
SCHEDULE: 
3 p.m. women's 5K
3:30 p.m. men's 8K
4:15 p.m. combined 5K
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
 
1. Scouting the competition: The Battle in Beantown will showcase some of the best cross country teams that all of DI running has to offer. For the men's side No. 3 ranked Washington, No. 13 ranked Syracuse and well-regarded Harvard will be in attendance. For the women's side the competition will feature, No. 25 Dartmouth, No. 27 Syracuse and Boston College.
 
2.  Strong Start: After having an outstanding showing at the Nassaney Invitational, the Huskies will look to build upon their early success in which they placed first in the men'S and women's competition in Rhode Island. The upcoming event will mark the first out of two events that the Huskies will be participating in around the Boston area this season.
 
3. CAA Runners of the Week: Cameron Dickson and Madison Neuner were crowned CAA Runners of the Week after contributing heavily to the Huskies success at the Nassaney Invitational. Neuner placed fourth in a 125-person field with a time of 18:14.1 in the 5K and Cameron Dickson placed first out of 128 runners with an 8K time of 25:04.8.

UP NEXT
The Huskies will next head to the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
