BOSTON—The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams will return to action this weekend at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The women's track and field team will compete on Friday, Feb. 14 and the men's team will compete on Saturday, Feb 15.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- Last time out: Before taking a week off, the men's and women's track and field teams competed at the New England Championships with both of the teams taking home second place. Cameron Dickson won the men's 5,000 meters with a time of 14:30.11. Khailah Griffin started the meet off finishing in third in the women's long jump with a personal-best mark of 19 feet, 2.50 inches, fifth all-time in school history. Griffin followed her outstanding performance with another person-best mark in the 60-meter dash prelims with the school's ninth-fastest time in program history (7.67). Griffin finished the meet with a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.67) and third-place finishes in the long jump and 200-meters. Donatien Djero placed first in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.83. Dominique Biron earned a personal-best point total of 3,535 to claim first place in the women's pentathlon.
- Huskies return to Commonwealth Ave.: The upcoming meet will be the fourth time this season that the men's and women's track and field team will compete at Boston University. The Huskies competed at the Boston University Indoor Open (Dec. 7) in their first weekend of the indoor season. Louiza Wise finished first in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 17:13.26 The Boston University Multi Team Meet (Jan. 18) consisted of eighth first-place finishes for members of the Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams. In the following weekend, three members of the women's track and field team ran season-best times at the John Thomas Terrier Classic (Jan. 25).
- Brandon Moorer's Story: Senior captain and sprinter, Brandon Moorer is featured on season two, episode four of the Tales of the Howlin' Huskies. Moorer shares an emotional narrative in which he faced mental and physical challenges while recovering from a devastating injury that he suffered in his senior year of high school. While the recovery left him doubting more than his return to competition, Moorer has since experienced success during his career at Northeastern. He was a part of two different 4x400 meter relay teams that currently hold the first, second and seventh place rankings on the All-Time Top 10 list. Moorer's episode can be watched here. Â Â
