EUGENE, Ore. - David Adams clocked a time of 51.23 in the 400-meter hurdles and Alexander Korczynski ran a time of 8:54.75 in the 3,000-Steeplechase to lead Northeastern at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field. Adams posted a 19th-place finish, while Korczynski finished in 22nd place for the Huskies.

Korczynski opened competition in the 3,000-SC in the second semifinal race, jumping out in front early. After losing the lead, Korczynski rallied during the final two laps and held the lead in his heat going into the final water jump, but stumbled on the steeplechase hurdle and fell to the track. The junior showcased his determination and was able to get back up and finish the race, only missing his lifetime-best time of 8:44.46 by 10 seconds.

Adams followed on the track and competed in the third and final semifinals race of the 400 hurdles. He maintained a steady pace in a very fast heat, and crossed the finish line in seventh place for his heat to end 19th in the country. Adams' school record time of 50.85 came at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla. and the senior will finish his career as one of the most decorated hurdlers, earning the Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet at the CAA Outdoor Championships after winning three gold medals.

The Huskies conclude the outdoor season after earning their sixth consecutive CAA outdoor title, matching a league record, and had two qualifiers at the national championships for the first time since 2017. Northeastern is on pace to record a top-10 finish in the Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup for Division I-AAA, which would be the highest finish in program history.
