Cross Country to Compete in New England Championships

BOSTON – The Northeastern cross country program will be competing at Franklin Park for the third time this season in the New England Cross Country Championships on Oct. 8. The women will be taking off in the 5K event at 12:30 p.m., while the men will set off in the 8K event at 1:15 p.m.

Three Things to Know
  • Building on Success – The program as a whole has had a great start to the season so far, the men and women both enjoyed first-place team finishes at the Suffolk Short Course Classic to open the year. A couple weeks later, the women placed second and the men placed third at the Battle in Beantown.
  • Last Time Out – The men placed second in the NE Cross Country Championships in 2019, while the women finished tenth.
  • Runners of the Week – Following the performance at the Battle in Beantown, Abigail Hassman and Alexander Korczynski swept the CAA Runners of the Week awards.

The Huskies will be back in action the following weekend when they travel to the Penn State National Open (Oct. 14), before coming back to Franklin Park for the Suffolk Invitational (Oct. 15).
