BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team (5-8, 2-2 CAA) is set to host UNCW (3-10, 1-3 CAA) this weekend, taking on the Seahawks on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9. Both matches are slated for 2 pm. Saturday's match can be watched on FloVolleyball, and Sunday's will be on NESN and FloVolleyball.
The Huskies will be having their Breast Cancer Awareness Match on Saturday, and the first 150 fans will receive a pink hat courtesy of the City of Boston Credit Union!
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- HOW SWEEP IT IS: With their thrilling five-set win over Elon on Sunday, the Huskies completed the weekend sweep over the Phoenix. Senior outside hitter Erica Staunton led Northeastern in both matches with back-to-back 25 kill performances, averaging 5.56 kills per set. Staunton also had double-doubles with 11 digs and 10 digs respectively.
- MARTIN MILESTONE: Six digs away from 1,000 for her career, senior libero Kayla Martin notched the milestone in the first set on Sunday against Elon. The senior then finished the match with a team-high 15 digs.
- DOUBLE-FIGURE DOMINANCE: Staunton has double-digit kills in all the matches so far this season, highlighted by a career-high 26-kill performance against Delaware. The senior 20+ kills in three straight matches since facing the Blue Hens.
After UNCW, the Huskies will hit the road to take on the College of Charleston on Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16.
