BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team (3-8, 0-2 CAA) is set to host Elon (5-8, 3-1 CAA) this weekend, taking on the Phoenix on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2. Both matches are slated to begin at 2 pm, and can be watched on
FloVolleyball.
The Huskies partnered up with the Latinx Student Culture Center, and at Saturday's match there will be free food and a t-shirt giveaway to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the 25
th anniversary of NULSCC!
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- Approaching 1,000: Senior libero Kayla Martin is closing in on the 1,000 digs milestone with 985. The Prosper, Texas native continues to be stellar on defense, having double-digit digs in all matches this season except two.
- Need an assist? Sophomore setter Jessica Frannea ranks fourth in the CAA with 336 assists, averaging 9.33 per set. The Cypress, Texas native has three double-doubles so far this season, and notched a season-high 50 assists vs. Delaware on September 18, which is three shy of a career-high.
- Sensational Staunton: Senior outside hitter Erica Staunton has double-digit kills in all the matches so far this season, highlighted by a career-high 26-kill performance against Delaware on September 18. The Orland Park, Illinois native also notched 11 digs in the match, picking up her first double-double of the season.
After Elon, the Huskies will host UNCW on Saturday, October 8 (Breast Cancer Awareness Match), and Sunday, October 9. Both matches are slated for 2 pm.
