Huskies Wrap Up 2023 Season With NCAA Championships

EARLYSVILLE, Va. — Junior Benjamin Godish and senior Abigail Hassman ran at the NCAA Cross Country Championships at Panorama Farms Saturday morning as the Huskies wrapped up the 2023 season.
 
For the first time in program history, the Huskies fielded both a male and female athlete at the NCAA Championships, as Hassman was the first female athlete in Northeastern history to qualify for the meet.
 
Hassman finished in the top 100 among the field of 254 runners, running a time of 20:38.6 to finish 94th at the race. The Foxborough, Massachusetts native was the only CAA runner in the event and finished fourth among Northeast region runners. She caps off a season in which she broke the school record in the 6K, won the CAA Championships and finished fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional to qualify for the National Championships.
 
Godish, from Highland Park, New Jersey, took 124th in his first NCAA Cross Country Championship appearance, running a time of 30:45.6 on the 10K course. He was also the only CAA runner in the event this year. Godish wraps up a season in which he won the individual title at the CAA Championships and earned a spot at the NCAA Championships after finishing seventh at the NCAA Northeast Regionals.
 
The Huskies wrap up the 2023 season with five team wins between the mens' and women's teams, two individual winners at the CAA Championships and two individual qualifiers for the NCAA Cross Country Championship.
