AMESBURY, Mass. — Senior
Alex Campbell of the Northeastern men's hockey team was named the Hockey East Player of the Week, marking his first weekly honor from the league.
Campbell tallied a three-point weekend against the Brown University Bears. While recording his first hat trick of the season, third of his career, in only 14 games played as a Husky, the 5-11 forward helped lift the Huskies to a 4-1 victory on Saturday night, netting one goal in each period. His hat trick goal came with the final 1:12 of the game on an empty net. He also finished the evening with a team-high five shots and a plus-two rating.
The Chateauguay, Quebec native currently holds Northeastern's longest-active point streak with seven points (6g, 1a) in his last four outings (1.75 points per game). On the year, the Huskies are 3-0-0 when Campbell tallies two or more goals.
Campbell and the Huskies are headed into the semester break and will return to action on Dec. 26 when they face Minnesota Duluth in the opening round of the 2023 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee, Wis.
