Northeastern Heads To Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's hockey team is headed to the 2023 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis. from Dec. 28-29. Northeastern will take on Minnesota Duluth on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 5 p.m. EST / 4p.m. CST to open up tournament play.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HUSKIES > BULLDOGS: In the opening round, the Huskies will matchup against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs in the early contest. The game marks only the tenth time the two programs have ever faced off. The last time there was dog-eat-dog competition was 24 years ago at the Silverado Shootout in Duluth, Minn. The Huskies were victorious, 3-2, with an overtime win on Dec. 27, 1999.
  2. SOUP SEASON: Currently leading the pack for the Huskies is transfer Alex Campbell with 16 points through 14 games played from seven assists and a team-high nine goals. His two short-handed goals on the year are tied for second among all skaters in the NCAA. Additionally, the Quebec native has added seven blocks, one game-winning goal and team-highs in both shots (41) and power-play goals (4).
  3. POINT PLAYERS: In Northeastern's recent outings, four Huskies have continued to see their name on the stat sheet en route to helping the team's scoring efforts. Led by Alex Campbell with seven points in four consecutive games, the 5-11 forward has tallied six goals and one assist. The Huskies has collected a 3-1-0 record in the past four games with Campbell recording 1.75 points per game. Jack Williams' 2.2 points per game is the most among all Northeastern skaters in the past two series against RPI and No. 1 Boston College as well as a single contest with Brown. His 11 points in his last five games come from five goals and six assists, including a career-high four points (2g, 2a) in game two versus RPI. Additionally, freshman Dylan Hryckowian has made quite the impact in his previous five outings, collecting six points from six assists. The elder Hryckowian brother, Justin, has tallied nine points in eight games (3g, 6a), while defenseman Jackson Dorrington has recorded four points (1g, 3a) in his previous three games. Dorrington has also tallied ten shots on goal and a plus-seven rating.
Northeastern will next face either Air Force or Wisconsin at the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off on Friday, Dec. 29.
