No. 16 Northeastern Set For Saturday With Vermont

BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 16 Northeastern men's hockey team will take on the University of Vermont Catamounts on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Gutterson Fieldhouse. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS: On the year, Vermont is 9-15-5 overall and 4-12-3 in the conference. The Catamounts are coming off a weekend series against the University of Massachusetts that resulted in ties both evenings. UMass was able to secure the extra point both nights.
  2. CAREER LEADERS: In their careers at Northeastern, Gunnarwolfe Fontaine holds nine points (3g, 6a) in six games against Vermont while Sam Colangelo has seven points (3g, 4a), Justin Hyrckowian tallied six (3g, 3a) and Jakov Novak tallied two goals and one helper. Jack HughesJackson Dorrington and Jack Williams each have two points while Matt Choupani, Cam Lund and Hunter McDonald all have one.
  3. LEADER BOARD: As the month of February continues to roll on, Aidan McDonough and linemate Justin Hryckowian still rank as the top goal scorers in the Hockey East conference. McDonough with 13 goals also leads the conference in power-play goals with six, while Hryckowian, with 12 goals this season, ties for first in the league with three game-winning goals. Through the 2022-23 campaign, McDonough leads the Huskies with 34 points (19g, 15a) and continues as the active NCAA career leader in both goals (65) and power-play goals (29). He is also tied for third in the country in goals this year (19). Hryckowian (13g, 17a) leads the Hockey East conference in faceoff wins (262) and with +18 rating. Additionally, his 404 faceoff wins overall are number one in the country.
