Huskies Set to Face No. 7 Brown for the Dreissigacker Cup on Saturday

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's rowing team is set to head to Providence, Rhode Island to face Brown for the Dreissigacker Cup on Saturday, April 15. Races on Seekonk River are slated for 4 pm (4V), 4:20 pm (3V), 4:40 pm (2V), and 5 pm (1V).

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. LAST TIME OUT – The Huskies closed out the Pac-12 Invitational on Sunday, racing against No. 13 Stanford. Northeastern's first varsity battled, leading through the first 500 meters, but Stanford pulled away through the middle of the race, finishing 4.9 seconds ahead of the Huskies at 5:39.0. The Huskies' second varsity boat picked up a win in their race against the Cardinal, controlling right from the start, and crossed the line at 5:51.2.
  2. LAST TIME OUT VS. BROWN – Battling tough conditions on the Charles last season, the Huskies were edged by Brown by less than two seconds. The win gave the Cup back to the Bears, as the Huskies won the last matchup between the teams in 2021.
  3. INSIDE THE DREISSIGACKER CUP – Brown leads the overall series 33-24. The last time the teams raced on the Seekonk River in 2019, the Bears won with a time of 6:11.8. The Huskies crossed the line at 6:13.2.
The Huskies will return home to race against Harvard on Saturday, April 29, and Wisconsin on Sunday, April 30.
