Huskies Grab Second-Place Finish At Coast-To-Coast Battle In Beantown

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's cross country team earned a second-place finish at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, hosted by Boston College Friday afternoon at Franklin Park.
  • The Huskies grabbed 98 points, finishing behind only Harvard among the field of 14 teams. Northeastern beat out fellow New England schools Dartmouth, UConn, Maine, Boston College, Rhode Island and Southern New Hampshire.
  • Junior Benjamin Godish led the way for the Huskies with a personal-best time of 24:00.6 on the 8K course, good to make him the third-best runner in school history at the 8K.
  • Senior Patrick Mullen followed with a personal best in the 8K, finishing 14th with a time of 24:22.4.
  • Senior Patrick Cullen demolished his personal-best time by just under 30 seconds, finishing 20th with a time of 24:32.0 in the 8K and placing himself at the sixth spot on the Northeastern Men's Cross Country All-Time Performance List.
  • The two finishers who rounded out the top five for the Huskies were sophomore Patrick Cantlon with a personal-best time of 24:35.7 to earn 23rd place, and senior Malav Mehta, whose personal-best time of 24:53.6 earned him 36th place. 
The men's team is back in action Friday, Oct. 13 as they travel to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the IC4A/ECAC Championships, while the women's team runs at Franklin Park Saturday, Oct. 7 in the New England Championships.
