Men's Hockey Wraps 2024 Slate At Ledyard Classic

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team will close out the 2024 slate at the 35th annual Ledyard Classic tournament, hosted by Dartmouth College, on Saturday, Dec. 28 - Sunday, Dec. 29. Northeastern's opening game of the tournament will mark the third matchup this season between the Huskies and the No. 7 Providence College Friars.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HUSKIES X LEDYARD HISTORY: The 35th annual Ledyard Classic will mark the fifth time Northeastern has competed in the event. This year's pool consists of the Huskies, Dartmouth College, Alaska Anchorage and Hockey East opponent, Providence. Of the last four times NU has competed at the Ledyard Classic, they have won the title twice in 1988 and 2009. The Huskies have seen seven skaters named to the all-tournament team and have earned two tournament MVP honors.
  2. BLUELINE CREWWith some early season injuries, the Northeastern defensive core has seen consistent action from four skaters in particular: graduate students Jake Boltmann and Jake Higgins and juniors Vinny Borgesi and Jackson Dorrington. All, but Boltmann with two less games, have suited up for the Huskies in all 15 contests this season. As a unit, the four blueliners are responsible for a combined 28 points (5g, 23a) and 183 blocks.
  3. MOST RECENTLYMost recently for the Huskies, freshman James Fisher recorded his first collegiate goal against Merrimack on Sat., Dec. 14, joining freshman Joe Connor as the lone rookies to tally a goal this season. In addition to Fisher and Connor, the Huskies' incoming class has combined for nine points (3g, 6a) through 15 games.
