ORLANDO, Fla. — The Northeastern track and field team concluded competition at the UCF Knights Invitational Saturday, notching five Top Ten All-Time marks.
The Huskies were led in the sprints, with
Johnny Emmanuel running a 47.55 in the 400m to place ninth at the meet and move into fifth on the Huskies' Top Ten list.
- Graduate student Kerem Ayhan followed Emmanuel with a time of 47.85 in the 400m, tying him for 10thon the All-Time Top Ten List.
- Ayhan also ran in the 800m, finishing second with a time of 1:47.92. That's the fastest time in the CAA this outdoor season and is the third-fastest in Northeastern history.
- On the women's side, graduate student Elizabeth McMahon crossed the line at 54.86 in the 400m, placing sixth and moving into third on the All-Time Top Ten List.
- McMahon also finished the 100m dash in 11.81 seconds, taking fifth on the All-Time Top Ten List. Fifth year Dominique Biron finished the race in 12.07 seconds.
- In the 100m hurdles, Biron got across the finish line in 14.18 seconds, taking ninth in the race.
- Sophomore Ian Solberg cleared a bar of 1.96 meters in the high jump to open his season.
The Huskies have a trio of meets in the upcoming week, with the Texas Relays, Raleigh Relays and UConn Dog Fight all taking place this weekend.
