BOSTON — The Northeastern track & field team is once again spread out across three different meets, with the Huskies heading to the Virginia Challenge, the Wake Forest Invite and the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- HUSKIES IN HOOVILLE — The Huskies will send senior Nicholas Pisciotta, senior Hope Belvit and junior Diego Sanabria to the Virginia Challenge for throwing events. All three of them have posted top 10 marks in the CAA this season, with Pisciotta (61.38m, 1st) and Belvit (56.85m, 5th) competing in the hammer throw and Sanabria (61.23m, 8th) throwing the javelin.
- LATE NIGHTS IN NORTH CAROLINA — The last time the Northeastern distance crew ran in North Carolina, senior Patrick Cullen broke the school record in the 10,000 meters, running a time of 28:38.78 late into the night at the Raleigh Relays just last month. Friday, he'll have a chance to do it on another late night, as he's slated to run in the 5K at 9:20 p.m. at the Wake Forest Invitational.
- A RUN ALONG THE CHARLES — The Sean Collier Invitational will see a majority of the Huskies competing over Friday and Saturday, with distance events slated to begin with pacers Friday afternoon and the rest of the events reserved for the full day Saturday. Northeastern will send over 50 athletes to Cambridge, with the NCAA's No. 7 heptathlon scorer Dominique Biron competing in the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles Saturday.
Northeastern will head to the Penn Relays next Thursday, April 25 and also stay home for Saturday, April 27 as they host the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational at Solomon Track in Dedham, Massachusetts.
