Kevin Cobb Named 2024 NEIBA Burr Award Winner

BOSTON - Northeastern University Associate Head Baseball Coach Kevin Cobb has been named the 2024 recipient of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Assocation's (NEIBA) Kevin Burr Assistant Coach Award, the association announced Friday morning.

Coach Cobb has been a member of the Northeastern coaching staff since 2013, and just wrapped up his first season in the Associate Head Coach role. Cobb's pitching staff finished the regular season with the second-best WHIP (1.40) and walks per nine (3.56) marks in the conference, good for 29th and 21st in the NCAA ranks, respectively. Northeastern posted four shutouts as they wrapped up the 2024 season with a 38-17 record.

The Kevin Burr Award is presented to an active New England Assistant coach who exhibits the integrity and dedication to the game of college baseball that Coach Burr demonstrated throughout his career. Cobb is the second Northeastern assistant to win the award, and the first since Pat Mason in 2010.
