Men's Track And Field Team Takes on Day One Of River Hawk Invitational

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's track and field teams kicked off the River Hawk Invitational, hosted by UMass Lowell, Friday afternoon in full stride.

Track Events:

  • Senior Kyle Sarney was the lone Husky to run in the Mile, clocking a time of 4:25.38.
  • Next was the 400m invitational, where sophomore Johnny Emmanuel crossed the line in third with a 48.15. That time is his fastest of the indoor season so far.
  • Freshman Cian Gara Grady opened his indoor season with a top-15 finish in the 800m, running a 1:55.72. Sophomore Quincy Scott (1:56.66) followed, finishing just under a second behind to take 16th in his first race this season.
  • Freshman Taeshawn Berry concluded the track events, dashing to seventh in the 200m Invitational, setting a time of 21.64.

Field Events:

  • Graduate student Nicholas Pisciotta and senior Tremain Robinson earned top-ten finishes in the weight throw. Pisciotta took fifth, tossing an 18.79m throw, while Robinson finished seventh with a mark of 17.73
  • Senior Paul Wisnaskas led all Huskies in the Long Jump, leaping to a distance of 5.65m. Freshman Casey Rockett recorded a mark of 5.09m in his first attempt in the event, respectively.
  • In the pole vault, senior Athanasios Pantazopolous cruised to another top-five finish, clearing the bar at 4.73m for fourth place. Junior Kevin Xu (4.13m) finished 19th, and freshman Colin Troan and Wisnaskas tied for 22nd, both recording a mark of 3.98m.
  • Sophomore Ohan Ambartsoumian claimed fifth in the shot put, reaching a 15.48m mark, and sophomore Mark Etienvre took seventh with a throw of 14.65m.

The women's track and field team concludes the River Hawk Invitational tomorrow, January 25, starting at 9 a.m.
