BOSTON – The final day of the River Hawk Invitational took place Saturday afternoon, and the Northeastern women's track and field team took full advantage of the occasion.
Track Events:
- Freshman Elena Olson opened the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 60m Hurdles, crossing the line at 8.81 for a new personal best.
- Next was the Mile, where senior Lauren Trejo led all Huskies with a mark of 5:12.94.
- In the 400m Invitational, junior Ariann Robinson dashed to fifth with a 57.04. Freshman Morgan Hayward also earned a top-ten finish, crossing the line at 57.26 for seventh, and her classmate Sloan Hinton set a new personal best of 57.96.
- Freshman Alanna Hagen led all Huskies in the 800m, recording a time of 2:17.53 to finish 13th. Sophomore Brittani Westberry (2:19.98) followed right behind for 19th, and freshman Anna Lonergan (2:20.88) recorded a new personal best to finish 22nd.
- Robinson added an eighth-place finish in the 200m Invitational after running a 24.98.
- In the 3000m, sophomore Natasha Sortland ran the fastest time for Northeastern, crossing the line in 18th at 10:18.34. Freshman Lily Poteet (10:32.74) took 22nd in her first attempt this indoor season.
- Northeastern's A-Team, lining up with Robinson, Hayward, Hinton, and freshman Ailani Sutherland, finished third in the 4x400 at 3:55.28.
Field Events:
- Graduate student Hope Belvit earned seventh in the weight throw, reaching 16.29m on her third attempt. Her classmate Madeleine DuChaussee finished 16th with a throw of 14.75m.
- In the Long Jump, sophomore Camryn Cole leaped a distance of 5.42m to tie for ninth, while freshman Jaice Dorsey (5.38m) finished right behind in 11th.
- Sophomore Hannah Shaw led all Huskies in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.40m. Sophomores Katie Rodriguez and Cassandra Cinzori both reached marks of 3.25m.
- Junior Mia Belanger led the Huskies to third in the High Jump, leaping over the bar at 1.65m. Dorsey also competed, recording a mark of 1.55m.
- Junior Leila Curtis (13.18m) and M. DuChaussee (13.07m) both earned top-ten finishes in the shot put.
Next, the Northeastern track and field teams prepare for the John Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University, from January 31 to February 1.
