Vinny Borgesi and freshman
Giacomo Martino of the Northeastern men's hockey team have been recognized with weekly honors from Hockey East, as announced on Monday. Borgesi was named the Army ROTC Defender of the Week, while Martino earned Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week accolades.

Borgesi anchored Northeastern's blueline in the team's 4-2 upset victory over No. 11 UMass, recording the primary assist on the Huskies' insurance goal to cap the win. The 5-8 defenseman led all skaters with a plus-three raring and three blocks, while contributing three shots on goal to round out a dominant two-way performance.

Martino played hero in Northeastern's statement upset over No. 11 UMass, netting the game-winning goal to lift the Huskies to their second-straight road win against the Minutemen. Martino finished the night with one shot on goal and a plus-one rating, earning First Star of the Game honors for his clutch performance.

Borgesi, Martino and the Huskies return to action with a single-game weekend, hosting Denver on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at Matthews Arena as part of Friends and Family Weekend.
